Authority: Walking in Divine Power and Strength
Discover how to walk in your God-given authority and take dominion over the enemy. Learn from Luke 10:19 how believers can live as royal sons and daughters of the King—armed with divine power to overcome every attack of the enemy.
When you said “Yes, Lord,” you didn’t just join a church—you enlisted in the army of God.
Every believer is born into a battlefield where faith, family, and peace are under constant attack. Yet Christ never called His people to live defeated. He called us to walk in authority, to stand firm against the enemy, and to rule with the dominion we were created to carry.
In Luke 10:19, Jesus declared, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” This isn’t poetic language—it’s a divine commission. It’s time for the Church to rise up, take its rightful place, and reign through Christ.
You’re in the Army Now
When you gave your life to Christ, you didn’t just join a church—you joined a war.
There are no civilian Christians. The moment you surrendered your heart, you stepped onto a spiritual battlefield.
Each day brings a fight for your peace, your family, and your destiny.
You were created in God’s image to carry dominion—rulership, authority, and power (Genesis 1:26–27). That’s why Satan hates you. You remind him of the One who cast him down.
Without Christ, you’re outmatched. But with Christ, you carry Heaven’s authority.
“The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11)
You’re not fighting for victory—you’re fighting from victory.
1. Know Your Enemy: The Thief and His Tactics
Jesus warned, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” (John 10:10)
Satan is that thief. He comes for your peace, your joy, your provision, and your faith.
But Proverbs 6:31 declares that when the thief is exposed, he must restore sevenfold.
The problem is that many believers never “find” the thief—they misdiagnose the battle. God doesn’t steal; the enemy does.
You don’t have to ask God to restore what He already gave you authority to command.
“Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions.” (Luke 10:19)
So when your finances are under siege, or darkness creeps into your home, don’t fight people—confront the enemy. Speak with Christ’s authority and command restoration.
Challenge Thought:
Are you living like a victim, or ruling like a victor?
Don’t cry over what’s been stolen—demand it back, sevenfold.
2. Know Your Position: You Are Royalty with Authority
“You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood.” (1 Peter 2:9)
You are both king and priest:
As a priest, you enter God’s presence through prayer and worship.
As a king, you rule and govern with spiritual authority.
Too many believers pray for change instead of exercising their authority to bring it about.
You are not a beggar—you are a son or daughter of the King (Romans 8:17).
“To Him who loved us and made us kings and priests…” (Revelation 1:5–6)
Imagine a prince raised in the streets, unaware he’s heir to the throne. The day he discovers his royal identity doesn’t make him royal—it reveals what he’s always been.
That’s the Church today: redeemed royalty rediscovering its crown.
When you walk into your home, workplace, or community, you carry Heaven’s authority.
You can speak peace into storms, healing into sickness, and light into darkness.
“Where the word of a king is, there is power.” (Ecclesiastes 8:4)
Challenge Thought:
Every crown comes with a cross.
Authority isn’t about dominance—it’s stewardship. To reign with Christ is to reflect His justice, mercy, and righteousness.
3. Know Your Responsibility: Take Dominion and Enforce Victory
From the beginning, God said, “Let them have dominion…” (Genesis 1:26–28)
Dominion is governing authority—the divine right to subdue evil.
Jesus didn’t just save you; He restored that dominion.
He is the Head—we are His Body (1 Corinthians 12:12–31). The Head directs, but the Body acts.
Authority without action accomplishes nothing.
When the enemy attacks, don’t sit in fear—stand and command him to leave in Jesus’ name.
You already wear Heaven’s badge. Use it.
Challenge Thought:
The devil fears the believer who knows their authority—and uses it.
Rise Up and Rule
We are not powerless.
We are not victims.
We are the royal sons and daughters of the King.
Christ already conquered the enemy and handed you the badge of authority.
Now it’s your turn to enforce His victory.
Take back your home.
Take back your peace.
Take back your mind.
Demand restoration in every area the enemy has touched.
“If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.” (2 Timothy 2:12)
So rise up, soldier of God.
Put on your armor.
Take your stand.
Use your authority.
It’s time for the Church to stop cowering in fear—and start taking authority over the enemy in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
If you’ve been living beneath your authority—letting fear, doubt, or defeat rule over your life—it’s time to reclaim your ground.
The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you. The same power that spoke worlds into existence now speaks through your faith.
Take a moment right now to pray:
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the authority You’ve given me through Jesus Christ. I repent for living as if I were powerless. I take my rightful place as Your child—walking in victory, not defeat. Teach me to recognize the enemy’s lies and to speak Your truth with boldness. I declare that every area of my life comes under the rule of Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
Now, walk in it. Speak like royalty. Stand like a soldier.
And remember—you were not made to retreat; you were made to reign.
