I spent twenty-five years in law enforcement: patrol, investigations, SVU, Homicide. I served in the U.S. Navy before that. I know what it looks like when a person is holding things together by sheer willpower. I've done it myself.
I accepted Christ in 1998. Felt called to ministry in 2008. Ran from that call for nearly a decade. Fully surrendered in 2018 after a reckoning with Matthew 7:21-23 that I still can't fully explain. Everything I write comes from that surrender, and from the hard, unfinished walk that followed.
I'm currently planting a church in Arizona and writing books for the believer who is still in the middle of the water, wondering if God changed His mind. He didn't.
